Lake Mati Kayaking Experience
Tour details
The meeting place for the trip is at Rr Elbasanit 85 (Tirana Backpackers). Participants who have booked via a partner hotel in Tirana can be picked up from there. Those joining the trip from another city are requested to contact the tour operator in order to discuss the meeting place.

The tour price of 27 Euros per person is applicable when a minimum of six participants have booked the tour. Participants are advised to email the tour operator before booking in order to find out if the trip is likely to depart as scheduled.
In case there are less than six participants, guests could either cancel their trip or pay a small group supplement.
Those who would like to go on this trip with their own group on a specific date are requested to contact the operators.
Lake Mati Kayaking Experience
Tour participants get to ride the river on the kayaks for approximately three hours. They can admire the beautiful surrounding mountains and the farm houses along the way and stop at pristine river beaches to swim and sunbathe.
The tour will drive to the Mati River in the morning. After a one-and-a-half-hour drive, the group will reach the starting point of the kayaking trip. There, the tour participants will receive a professional briefing on how to use the gear (neoprene, life vest, spray jacket and helmet). This trip is easy and not too challenging and in warm weather, participants can go in bathing suits and jump into the water whenever they wish to.
During the trip, the group will stop at several beaches, one of which will be the location of a picnic lunch consisting of seasonal fruit, sweets and refreshing drinks. After lunch, the group will have some more paddling to do, until they reach a nice little restaurant where the tour will end. Here, they will have the option of tasting fresh river fish and another drink, before returning to Tirana.
The itinerary is as follows:
8:45 am - assembling at the meeting point (hostel, yellow villa, Rr Elbasanit 85)
9 am - departure
10:30 am - arrival at starting point
11 am - start kayaking trip
12:30 pm - light picnic lunch
2 pm - arrival at destination; optional lunch
4 pm - departure for Tirana
5:30 pm - arrival at Tirana.
Note: The times are approximate and arrival at Tirana could be later than the given time.
The price of 35 Euros includes a professional guide, transport from Tirana and back, personal equipment (helmet, neoprene, spray jacket, life vest) and a picnic lunch.
Departure dates are 6 July, 13 July, 19 July, 27 July, 3 August, 10 August, 17 August and 24 August.
Participant guidelines
In order to join the trip you have to be able to swim!
Other disclosures
Participants on the tour are advised to bring water-proof hats, swimming gear, drinking water, a towel, a pair of shorts to avoid sunburns in the kayak, sun cream and a pair of water-proof shoes.
